Hamilton County Council elects Brad Beaver president, Steve Nation vice president for 2026

At its Jan. 7 meeting the Hamilton County Council unanimously elected Brad Beaver as council president and Steve Nation as vice president for 2026, presented a plaque to outgoing president Sue Mackey and named Nation as parliamentarian.
The Hamilton County Council elected Brad Beaver as council president and Steve Nation as vice president at its Wednesday, Jan. 7 meeting. Both leadership nominations were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Council members presented a plaque recognizing Sue Mackey for her service as council president in 2025. A council member said, "We appreciate everything you've done for us," as the plaque was presented.
The council also moved to name Councilor Steve Nation as parliamentarian; that motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. The meeting then proceeded through routine committee and officer reports and new business.
