Elk County commissioners voted to renew the contract with the county solicitor serving Children & Youth Services, applying a 2.75% increase that sets the solicitor’s annual compensation at $42,947.22 for the Jan. 2026–Dec. 2026 contract year.

A county official explained that Nancy Baker, director of Children & Youth Services, could not attend but that the renewal follows past practice of granting the solicitor the same cost-of-living adjustment provided to county employees. Commissioners noted the solicitor’s longstanding service.

The motion to approve the renewal was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. The meeting record did not include a copy of the contract itself or additional terms beyond the pay adjustment.
