The Town of Hilton Head Island has hired Sean Gillan as assistant town manager of operations, effective Dec. 1, the county bulletin reported.

The announcement said Gillan will lead engineering, capital projects, facilities and information technology operations. The item summarized his experience, saying he previously served as city manager of Tybee Island, Georgia, and secured more than $20,000,000 in state and federal grants there while implementing a stormwater master plan and completing beach renourishment projects.
