Commissioner Mark Larson moved to approve the 2026 Henry County budget; Presiding Commissioner Jim Stone seconded. The motion carried on a roll-call vote and the commission formally adopted the budget during the 9:41 a.m. hearing.
Merritt's summary of changes framed the updated document as a technical revision to reflect final 2025 accounting and an allocation change for the Lurgen Bridge; no new tax rates or major new program lines were presented during the hearing. The clerk also noted some ministerial corrections to wording and formatting.
