City staff presented an update on planned traffic-signal projects at four intersections in Lemoore and described a schedule for design, predevelopment and construction. Staff said they received 100% design for Bush & 19½ and the Hanford/Amona & Liberty location and 90% design for Cinnamon & 19th. The predevelopment period is estimated to run from late January through June, with construction tentatively scheduled for June through August and work on all locations to be coordinated concurrently.
Staff said the designs include pedestrian push buttons and countdown timers, emergency vehicle detection, and use of 12-inch-diameter signal heads. Utility coordination was described as ongoing; one location requires PG&E work and PG&E’s estimated completion date referenced in the presentation was 01/26/26. Council members raised concerns about construction timing relative to the school calendar and possible traffic impacts; staff said they expect work to finish before the school year starts but acknowledged there could be brief inconveniences of a week or two. Staff also noted coordination with Caltrans on nearby roundabout work.
No formal action was taken; council asked staff to continue coordination and return with final schedule confirmations if required.
