Two public commenters addressed the Arts and Culture Board at the Jan. 8 meeting.
Kevin (public commenter) asked the museum and the board to record or publicly acknowledge his sister Catherine Livingston Koenig's memorial fund, which he said helped restore the historic Littleton Schoolhouse in 1978. He requested a modest recognition (for example, text on the museum website) rather than a plaque, describing his family's long volunteer history with the museum and local historic-reenactment activities.
Andrew Bernstein, a resident who said he has lived in Littleton for 14 years, urged the board to consider initiating a city flag process or contest because "there is no flag flying for the city of Littleton." Bernstein said his child designed a proposal that follows established flag-design principles (no lettering, simple and distinctive), and he suggested the Arts and Culture Board may be the appropriate forum to advance a flag effort.
Board members and staff thanked both speakers and indicated they would pass the requests to the museum and consider ways the board could support a city-flag effort or design contest. The board did not take formal action on either request during the meeting; under Colorado open meetings law the board cannot act on items not on the agenda but may refer them to staff for follow-up.
