Des Moines launches Collective Impact learning series with monthly events and an "impact pass"

Holly Wilkins, community relations specialist with the City of Des Moines Community Impact and Relations department, announced the city will launch the Collective Impact learning series beginning in January 2026. "We are launching the collective impact learning series that is open to community members who are interested in learning how to spark their impact in their own communities," Wilkins said.
The series will run monthly and bring "thought provoking topics, explore unique perspectives, and hear from dynamic speakers," Wilkins said. The program includes an "impact pass," described as a punch card attendees may pick up and use to check off each event they attend; those who check off all 12 boxes over the year will be celebrated at a year-end event.
Wilkins framed the series as both inspirational and practical, saying it is "intended to ignite innovation and spark inspiration" and offering residents ways to get involved in different locations around Des Moines throughout the year. She said the first event, aimed at young professionals, is scheduled for Jan. 15. Registration and event information are available at dsm.city/impactevents.
