At the opening of the meeting, the Morgantown Planning Commission handled routine administrative business, appointing its officers and approving minutes from prior meetings before moving to substantive items.
A commissioner nominated the current slate of officers, naming Peter DeMasters for president and Bill Petros for vice president. The commission closed nominations and appointed the slate by acclamation.
The commission then moved to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of Dec. 11, 2025, and the Dec. 11 study session; both motions were seconded and passed by voice vote.
Later in the meeting, the Staff Planner announced the city has engaged a consultant to rewrite the city sign ordinance and said staff will reach out to Planning Commission members interested in serving on a steering committee to advise the rewrite.
The meeting adjourned after brief committee and staff comments.
