City Planner Houston told the commission the applicant is requesting a conditional use permit for the temporary installation and that staff had not completed a full assessment due to holiday delays. "At this time, this item is not quite ready for, count or excuse me, commission action," Houston said, adding staff worked on the item through Dec. 31 and "I still didn't have answers. So I ended up pushing it to the February meeting." Houston also said the hearing was advertised and that no public comments had been received by the office to date.
The commission opened the public hearing and heard no speakers in the chamber; a motion to lay the item on the table until the next meeting was made, seconded, and approved. Because staff recommended tabling while they complete their review, the commission took public comment but did not vote on the permit itself. The record shows the item will be taken up at the commission's February meeting when staff expects to return with complete information.
