Weston communications committee adopts “Campus Revitalization” name, adds website quick link

The Weston Public Schools Communication Committee on Jan. 9 agreed to brand its facilities planning work as “Campus Revitalization,” add a quick link to the district website and push a formatted newsletter to increase public reach.
Committee members spent much of the meeting reviewing a draft write-up of the recent facilities meeting and how best to distribute it. Speaker 3 said she had watched the recording and sent a draft; the group asked Nicole to finalize content so communications staff could convert it into a visually engaging email. Speaker 5 said the committee would create a S'more/bricks-and-mortar template so the update appears in the body of an email rather than as an attachment.
The meeting moved to the district website. Speaker 6 demonstrated a facilities entry and the committee debated where the project should live on the site. After discussing options including ‘Facilities,’ ‘Campus Renewal’ and ‘Campus Modernization,’ members agreed to use “Campus Revitalization” as the working project name for communications. Speaker 4 summarized the decision: “Campus revitalization is gonna be what we call this project.”
To make the project easy to find, the committee decided to add a quick link on the home page and keep a separate Facilities landing under Departments for functional items such as rental requests and permits. Speaker 6 said he removed the Transportation quick link during the meeting and added Campus Revitalization to the quick links; he also plans to rotate which icons appear on the homepage by season so high‑priority links (transportation in August, budget during budget season) can be restored later.
Committee members said the quicker, in‑body newsletter format will improve open rates and asked principals and PTO leaders to share the link. The group also agreed that communications should be distributed beyond the school community to reach town leadership and the wider public.
The committee set its next meeting for Feb. 6 at 9 a.m. and adjourned.
