Council adopts ordinances clarifying police and fire chiefs' reporting lines and residency limits

No members of the public offered comment during the hearings. A motion to adopt each ordinance passed on roll-call votes recorded as unanimous. Council members noted the items were largely administrative clarifications intended to ensure clear reporting lines if a separate public safety director position is not in place.
The ordinances were adopted the same evening and become part of Mapleton City Code; staff said the changes will be posted in the city code and communicated to personnel as needed.
