The Madison County Board of Education elected Lori Cobb as its 2026 chair and Brandon Rutherford as vice chair during its Jan. 8 meeting.

Board members opened nominations for chair and moved to nominate Lori Cobb; the motion was seconded and members voted in favor. Later the board moved to cease nominations and elected Cobb by acclamation. For vice chair, Brandon Rutherford was nominated, a motion was seconded and the board elected him by acclamation.
