Lincoln High recognized two students and highlighted new engineering, CTE and OSSI-funded programs
Summary
Lincoln High presenters introduced students of the month and described new programming: an engineering course cross‑crediting with geometry, two new Prusa 3D printers, CTE/SEAS field trips and $27,000 allocated from OSSI school improvement funds for CTE expansion and a paraeducator for tutoring support.
The Port Angeles School District recognized two students of the month and heard a multi-part presentation about programming and supports at Lincoln High.
Students Isabel Pratt (11th grade) and Casey Duggins (10th grade) were introduced and praised by teachers for academics, leadership and helpfulness. A Lincoln High presenter summarized year-to-date highlights at the small alternative high school: a new engineering class that cross-credits with geometry; the purchase of two Prusa 3D printers with school-improvement funds; expansion of CTE programming; field trips supported by Port Angeles Education Foundation grants; and a garden and orchard project with cherry, pear and apple plantings. The presenter also described the school improvement plan (CSIP) priorities for 2026: improving graduation tracking, raising the share of students meeting a 90% attendance threshold, and increasing course-passage rates. The presenter said the school has allocated $27,000 of OSSI funds to grow CTE and to add a paraeducator for tutoring support.
Board members congratulated the students and commended staff for securing grant and OSSI funds to expand hands-on learning and postsecondary preparation.
