Request to waive 100‑mile noncompete clause for Sports Facilities Management deferred to regular agenda
Summary
An applicant asked the city for a limited exception to a 100‑mile radius clause in the agreement with Sports Facilities Management; the item (Resolution No. 871926) was moved to the regular Monday agenda because the Hoover Met Complex general manager, Mister Ealy, was absent due to a medical emergency.

The council heard an introductory presentation on a request to grant a limited exception to the 100‑mile radius clause in the agreement between the city and Sports Facilities Management (SFM), but the item was deferred to the regular Monday agenda after the Hoover Met Complex general manager, Mister Ealy, had a medical emergency and could not attend.
Mister President said the requesting city asked for anonymity at the moment and that the administration would bring the matter back on Monday, when Mr. Ealy could answer questions. The item was introduced as Resolution No. 871926 during the work session and will be discussed in detail at the regular meeting.
Because the general manager was not present, the council did not review or act on the exemption request during the work session.
