Hoover proposes donating right‑of‑way to Jefferson County for sidewalk; council queries corner geometry

Mister Marlin told council the easement and right‑of‑way donation would facilitate the Jefferson County sidewalk work. Councilmember Schultz asked whether the corner geometry would be cut back to soften a sharp turn; staff said the sidewalk will be designed by Jefferson County and that some modifications to the corner area are expected. Staff also said the sidewalk will remain on the side described in the county diagrams until it reaches the Moss Rock parking lot and then cross over to the lot.
The ordinance was introduced during the work session as Ordinance No. 252686 (as listed in the packet); design remains in the county design phase and council members asked that staff keep them updated as drawings are finalized.
