Committee approves $700,000 baseball donations accounting adjustment and Carl Perkins grant transfer

Because the district cannot directly deposit donations into its capital fund, staff asked the committee to recommend that the full board increase Fund 49 revenues and expenses by $700,000 so the district can pay outstanding bills and move remaining funds toward projects such as bleachers. The committee moved, seconded and approved the accounting adjustment by voice vote.
Carl Perkins grant: Staff reported an additional Carl Perkins award of $6,810.50 plus roughly $1,600 and asked that the grant revenue be recorded and the corresponding expenses booked to technology education. The committee moved and seconded the transfer and approved it.
No additional conditions were placed on either approval. Staff said the district will bring any larger capital project proposals (for example, bleachers) to the board for separate consideration and approval.
