The Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District board approved an intergovernmental cooperation agreement with the Madison School District during the Jan. 12 meeting so a student who lives on parcels that will transfer to Madison can enroll with Madison earlier than otherwise scheduled.

Assistant Superintendent Jared Rosing explained the reason for the agreement: certain parcels of land are being transferred to the Madison School District and a student who lives on one of those parcels would be better served by transferring sooner. "The reason that we're doing this is... there are some parcels of land that get transferred to Madison, and this is an individual that lives in one of those parcels," Rosing said. The district recommended the transfer based on the student's needs.

A motion to approve the resolution was made and seconded; the board voted on a voice vote and the motion passed.
