At the Jan. 5 meeting the presiding official announced a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new Future City Gymnasium scheduled for Thursday at 2:30 p.m., and noted that some out-of-town guests who helped secure the grant for the project will attend.
The presiding official also reminded attendees that the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday falls on Jan. 19; the council will not meet that day but may meet on Jan. 20 if business requires it. He added that sanitation routes will run one day behind schedule during that week and that the city has already publicized the schedule change.
After the announcements and a brief opportunity for questions—none were raised—the presiding official adjourned the meeting.
