Salvation Army, Lions Club invite Sierra Vista to Mad Hatter Tea Party and Project Linus blanket‑making

Janet Morlock of the Sierra Vista Lions Club promoted a Project Linus volunteer session on Saturday, Jan. 10, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Salvation Army Community Center (180 E. Wilcox Drive). Morlock said volunteers make no‑sew blankets for children in crisis and that "we sometimes produce 90 blankets in a day if we have enough people." She invited families and church groups to participate and said instructions are simple (scissors and knotting) so volunteers of many ages can contribute.
Separately, Lori Fifecoat (Lions Club member) described a Huachuca City post‑holiday food drive with drop‑off windows Jan. 10 and 11, an upcoming prize bingo (Jan. 10) and a pancake breakfast (Jan. 11) to benefit community programs; she provided local contact numbers for volunteers and ticket purchases.
All speakers emphasized that event proceeds and volunteer work benefit local families and children and encouraged listeners to contact organizers or follow nonprofit pages for details.
