Oak Creek honors Assistant Fire Chief Jeffrey P. Malice as he retires

The Oak Creek Common Council on Jan. 20 adopted a resolution honoring Assistant Fire Chief Jeffrey P. Malice, who retired effective Jan. 16 after more than 23 years with the department.
Catherine read the resolution, which traces Malice’s promotions from firefighter to lieutenant to battalion chief and then assistant chief, and credits him with leadership of the department’s paramedic program, health and safety efforts, and recent strategic planning. The resolution directs the city clerk to transmit a suitable copy to Malice and be spread on the meeting minutes.
Fire Chief Mike Kresick told the council Malice had “a significant impact on our community and the fire department in terms of the skills he utilized to provide a service to our citizens, as well as his impact on the programs within our organization.” Kresick praised Malice’s humility and leadership and encouraged attendance at Malice’s retirement ceremony.
Mayor Dan and other council members echoed those remarks, calling Malice a humble leader who led by example. The council approved resolution 12647-010625 by roll call vote.
The resolution and remarks were largely ceremonial; no program changes or operational directives were announced at the meeting.
