The Oak Creek Common Council on Jan. 20 adopted a resolution honoring Michael J. Sullivan for 32 years and nine months of service to the city’s Water and Sewer Utility.
Catherine read the resolution, which credits Sullivan with roles in major projects including the 2010 water treatment plant expansion (increasing capacity first to 28 MGD, later rerated to 35 MGD), completion of a booster station and negotiation of a 40‑year wholesale water agreement with the city of Franklin. The resolution also notes Sullivan’s contributions to Oak Creek’s national recognition under the Partnership for Safe Water.
Council members praised Sullivan’s institutional knowledge. Kent said he had worked with Sullivan on the water and sewer utility commission and called him “a dedicated and serious employee” whose experience will be missed. Mayor Dan noted the utility’s long record of awards and said Sullivan’s leadership had contributed to the city’s high-quality drinking water, adding, “32 plus years for Mike, just amazing.”
The council approved resolution 12646-010626 by roll call vote. The resolution directs the city clerk to transmit a suitable copy to Sullivan and to spread the resolution upon the meeting minutes.
With adoption complete, the council moved on to other items on the agenda.
