Commerce grant), Gooding Avenue sidewalk work, drainage and BMP installations on Mason Farm and Kingswood, holiday-lighting electrical upgrades, Asylum Road lighting coordination with the state, Sherry Avenue drainage phases, Leahy Pond invasive-plant removal, EPA activity at the Bayview greenhouse property and the long-running Wally School reuse project (mechanical, HVAC, sprinkler, and interior work). The administrator said many projects were completed with state or grant funding and that in-house contracting saved approximately $3 million on the Wally School work to date.
On the Wally School renovations (agenda J1), seven bids were opened at the noon bid opening. Reported base bids included JML Excavation at $136,850 (lowest) and Marion Construction at $578,379 (highest). Council moved to refer the bid review and potential award to the town administrator and the project architect to ensure low bids did not omit required scope items; the motion passed.
Council also received a BCWA tri‑town report and other routine administrative items before adjourning.
