The Village of Glendale Heights board on Jan. 8 approved multiple ordinances and routine business, including a contract to repair Well Number 12 and renewals of live-entertainment permits for three local establishments.
Village Administrator Doug Flint read the consent agenda, which included minutes approvals, payrolls and accounts payable listings with a total amount of $5,886,236.10. Trustee Schmidt moved to adopt the consent agenda "as presented," the motion was seconded and, by roll call, the board voted to approve the consent items.
Following a successful motion to waive first readings on new-business items 2 through 5, the board adopted the following ordinances (first readings waived and each approved by roll call): Ordinance 2026-01, to waive bidding and accept the proposal of Lane Christensen Company for repair and rehabilitation of Well Number 12 and authorize a contract with the company; Ordinance 2026-02, renewing the live-entertainment permit for Schnitzel Plots at 729 North Avenue; Ordinance 2026-03, renewing the live-entertainment permit for Jack's Pub and Grill at 338 East Army Trail Road (board discussion acknowledged prior issues but found none preventing renewal); and Ordinance 2026-04, renewing the live-entertainment permit for Kronos restaurant at 2260 Bloomingdale Road.
The meeting transcript records roll-call approval for each ordinance with affirmative votes from the trustees present. Where public-safety questions arose — notably about Jack's Pub and Grill — staff and the police chief indicated there were no current issues preventing a permit renewal.
Item 6, an ordinance amending off-street parking regulations and a conditional-use permit request for an adult cannabis infuser facility at 600 Wall Street in Highgrove Center (from the Dec. 11 Committee of the Whole), was presented as a first reading and not voted on at this meeting.
The board adjourned the regular meeting after new business concluded.
