Mayor explained the board solicited three bids and that Wayne Shaft was the lowest of the three. "They were the lowest bid of 3 that we did check," the mayor said during the discussion, adding that the village was "hoping to get in there on Monday" and that staff were taking measures (space heaters, running faucets) to protect the building during the work.
Trustees affirmed the procurement process during the vote and authorized the mayor to execute any relevant paperwork to move the project forward. The mayor and engineering staff thanked contractor contacts and engineers who expedited the procurement.
The board noted contingency planning for cold weather during installation and that the village followed a three‑bid review process for this price range.
