Virginia Board Elects Michelle Ashton as President After Grace Creasy’s Resignation

Board members moved and seconded the nomination. During discussion, one member said she would abstain because she had not had a chance to speak with Ashton in person. The roll‑call vote recorded several ayes and one abstention; the motion passed and Ashton assumed the gavel.
The board then approved the day’s agenda and minutes by roll‑call vote and proceeded to scheduled presentations and public comment.
