Adams County commissioners on Jan. 13 approved routine business including minutes, payroll and several contracts and resolutions, and took six bids for the Bridal 142 project under advisement.
The board approved the Jan. 6, 2026 minutes as amended (motion by Stan, seconded by Doug). The commissioners approved a 2026 annual maintenance agreement for the county's voting system with Infinity Voting Systems (MicroVotes) for $15,000 after Clerk Shelly Bridal requested approval. Commissioners also approved payroll timecards and payroll claims for the first full payroll of 2026 totaling $406,005.83.
Tony presented paperwork for a $40,000 grant previously approved by the council; the board agreed to sign the paperwork for county compliance. The board also approved Ordinance 2026-1, which ratifies Resolution 2025-6 establishing the county's capital asset management plan at the State Board of Accounts's request.
Nate opened six bids for Bridal 142 and read the bid amounts from contractors including Judy Excavating ($431,321.54), Duncan Robertson King ($485,151.00) and others; commissioners voted to take the bids under advisement and requested staff return with a recommendation at the next meeting. Separately, the board accepted the low quote of $44,820 from Pioneer Associates for partial deck patching on Bridge 31 and authorized scheduling that work.
Other motions passed included appointments and committee reassignments recorded in the minutes, drainage-related approvals, and authorization for staff to send drafted abatement agreements for Paradise Lane enforcement to property owners. No roll-call vote tallies were recorded in the transcript; actions are logged as passed by voice vote.
Next steps: staff will assemble a bid tab and return recommendations for Bridal 142, and procurement staff will schedule Bridge 31 work after contract paperwork is completed.
