Board hears that 384 Robertson County students used state voucher program; district seeks more data

Dr. Weeks said he and board members met with state legislators and shared the district’s legislative interests. He reported that the state had told the district 384 Robertson County students used the Educational Voucher Scholarship this year but that the state had not provided further demographic information indicating whether those students had previously been enrolled in the district.
Dr. Weeks said the district had received a summary document shared by Representative Kumar and that the Office of Educational Research and Accountability in the Comptroller’s Office was looking into voucher program data for more detail. The summary in the packet noted that, in 2022, about 66% of voucher students had come from public schools and that many voucher recipients in the summary were not coming from D or F schools.
