The Robertson County School Board heard a district finance update at its Jan. 12 meeting, with the director of schools reporting year-to-date figures through Nov. 30.
Dr. Weeks said the district has recorded $50,900,000 in revenues (about 35% of the annual budget) and $60,200,000 in expenditures (about 39.7% of the budget). He noted property tax receipts are beginning to arrive and sales tax receipts are roughly comparable to last year. Dr. Weeks told the board the district had budgeted to use up to approximately $8,000,000 from the fund balance if needed and that several contracts had been paid up front, which affects current figures.
He flagged electricity as an especially high line-item, calling out costs that require monitoring, and said gasoline costs were lower, at roughly 25% of the budgeted projection for that category. Dr. Weeks said he had discussed the position with county finance and district staff and that both expressed no immediate worry about the budget position.
Ending: The board accepted the report and had no immediate requests for further action; staff will continue monitoring major categories and report as needed.
