The Cornwall-Lebanon School District Board of School Directors voted unanimously on Jan. 12 to accept findings that a Cedar Crest High School student (ID 252605) committed multiple violations of student-discipline policy number 218 and to expel the student for a period of up to one calendar year.

During the meeting the presiding officer read motions detailing the administration's recommendation: to accept that student 252605 "was in multiple violations of student discipline policy number 218" and to "expel the Cedar Crest High School student 252605 from the Cornwall-Lebanon School District for a period up to one calendar year, but allow the superintendent the discretion to modify the consequence." Both motions were seconded and approved by a show of hands, recorded as 9–0.

The board also authorized and directed the solicitor and school district administration to prepare a written adjudication concerning student 252605, to be signed by appropriate district representatives, and to provide that adjudication along with information about appeal rights and continuing-education options for the student in writing "as promptly as possible." The motion specified notification and documentation steps consistent with formal disciplinary adjudication procedures.
