He said the business would focus on indica strains for therapeutic uses and would operate on nine acres outside Brown. Mittling told commissioners the grow rooms are enclosed with no continual outside air exchange and that odor would not be noticeable to neighbors under normal operation.
Commissioners thanked him for his personal testimony and noted that planning and zoning review would govern any local land‑use approvals. Mittling said he had contacted planning and zoning and that he would not pursue the effort further in McLeod County if it is not feasible under local regulations.
The board did not take action during the meeting; any formal application would proceed through planning and zoning and required state licensing.
