The Clackamas County Developmental Disabilities Advisory Council on Oct. 27 approved the September meeting minutes and moved to form a community‑engagement subcommittee to increase outreach to families, providers and community partners.
Council Chair (Speaker 3) moved to approve the minutes; the motion was seconded and the membership voted in favor. John (Speaker 1) asked that minutes and public materials consistently use the full name “Developmental Disabilities Advisory Council” in future documents to avoid implying provider roles.
Members discussed goals for the new outreach subcommittee, including resource fairs, targeted flyers to churches and health providers, and “office hours” or coffee‑hour events to connect families to services. Speaker 10 offered to prepare and help distribute flyers; several other members volunteered to serve on the subcommittee. The council agreed the subcommittee should report back at an upcoming meeting and coordinate by email to finalize membership and initial tasks.
The meeting closed with staff and council members identifying follow‑up items—draft privacy language for PointClickCare notifications, QA materials for January, and next steps on provider‑records advocacy—before adjourning several minutes late.
