The Saint Mary's Area School District board approved a series of routine and business items during the Jan. 12 meeting. By voice vote the board approved the meeting agenda, accepted minutes from the Dec. 4, 2025 meeting, authorized payment of December 2025 bills across the general, food service and payroll funds, and accepted the treasurer’s report for November 2025.

The board approved revised policies: Policy 011 (board governance, standards and code of conduct), Policy 235 (student rights), Policy 235.1 (surveys), and Policy 626.1 (travel reimbursement for federal programs). The board also received first readings (information only) of policies on purchasing (610, 611, 612).

In business affairs, the board passed a resolution authorizing a joint tax collection checking account at Farmers National Bank with designated signatories. The board authorized the Elk County Tax Claim Bureau to manage disposition of unsold property at its discretion and discussed a third consecutive-year request from Guptill Village LLC to accept face-value payment for a 2025 real estate bill; board members requested additional background before final disposition.

The board approved a renewal agreement with Saint Mary's American Legion Post 103 to formalize maintenance of Berwyn Park field and approved donations/disposal of obsolete technology equipment. The board also approved five student field trips scheduled between Feb. and June 2026 and accepted personnel recommendations presented as provisional pending required clearances. The meeting adjourned by voice vote.
