Residents highlight Wildfire Academy, junior livestock show and employee insurance issues during Wichita County public comment

Another speaker thanked the court for supporting the Wichita County Junior Livestock Show, saying the event produced strong entries and a successful Saturday-night sale. A county employee raised a separate personnel concern: new insurance cards mailed Jan. 5 had not activated dental and vision benefits for some new enrollees and the county received a first billing from EBC that appeared to include incorrect TPA fees (staff estimated the difference at about $60,000); county staff identified Tanya and Sonia as working to resolve the issue.
The judge reminded the public that comments are limited to five minutes and that the court cannot act on items raised during public comment; public comment closed at 10:05 a.m.
