The Mount Healthy City Board of Education opened its January meeting with oath-taking for incoming and returning members and moved through organizational business, electing officers and approving routine but consequential administrative items.

Tina Butler, Douglas Frazier, Stephanie Anderson and Emmett Kilgore took the oath of office during the meeting. Emmett Kilgore nominated Stephanie Anderson for board president; the board approved Anderson as president. Kimberly Golden Bryant was nominated and sworn in as vice president; the roll call recorded one abstention during an early vice-president roll call but the vice president was sworn and seated.

The board approved a slate of purchasing agents for state and federal programs (including Dr. Sarah Wilson, Shana Berg and Brock Kinzer), a purchasing agent for technology and a purchasing agent for food service. The board also established a $20,000 service fund for board-related meeting expenses, appointed Kristen Yancey as the district public records request designee and approved a range of routine contracts, purchase orders over $5,000 and personnel items. Votes on these items were recorded by roll call and carried.

The superintendent also noted athletic conference changes (the SWOC is disbanding) and said staff would submit a letter of intent to the CMAQ for football scheduling; that was presented as information and will return for formal action if required.

The board concluded regular business and announced an executive session to discuss personnel and security matters.
