Shannon Eck of the Harrison Public Library briefed the council about new and rescheduled library offerings for January and described an expanded pickup option for patrons.
Eck said the library is launching "Movers and Shakers," a story-time program every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. for children ages 4 and under. She also announced a teen drop-in session on Thursday, Jan. 15 at 3:30 p.m. offering snacks and a do-it-yourself STEM project; no registration is required for either program.
The library rescheduled a Newport Aquarium appearance; the shark presentation will take place Saturday, Jan. 17 at 1:00 p.m. for families. Eck explained the library will also begin using a Harrison Pickup Locker starting Jan. 8 so patrons can retrieve holds outside normal business hours by using their library card to access locker bays.
Council members thanked Eck for the update and for the new services designed to improve access and family programming.
No council action or funding vote was recorded in the meeting minutes for the library announcement.
