The Passaic City Council on Dec. 16 approved minutes from earlier 2025 meetings, accepted communications and passed the routine consent agenda covering multiple items. Council members handled several separate votes for items identified by staff as needing individual consideration (including item 36, a Board of Education matter, and item 38). Where roll calls were recorded, the council registered affirmative votes and accepted the items.
Council also introduced three ordinances and scheduled second/final hearings: Ordinance 57 (amending restricted disabled parking designation by New Jersey license plate numbers) was set for a Jan. 8, 2026 hearing; Ordinance 58 (an amendment to the Market Street redevelopment plan) was set for a Jan. 20, 2026 hearing; and Ordinance 59 (a technical amendment to affordable‑housing rounding) was advanced on first reading with roll call recorded.
Staff summarized technical backup for several items, including a DEP‑required submission for work at a former gas worksite. The transcript records motions, seconds and roll‑call votes for the matters described; where a separate roll call was requested, the council recorded affirmatives and the items were accepted as routine or scheduled for subsequent hearings.
The meeting concluded with passage of a motion to adjourn and seasonal remarks.
