The Patrick County Board of Supervisors approved its 2026 meeting schedule and a set of committee appointments at the organizational meeting.

Board members were provided the draft schedule in advance and discussed one Tuesday meeting (May 26) that falls on a Tuesday because the second Monday is Memorial Day. The board noted that a work session date may be optional; after a motion and second, the meeting schedule passed by voice vote with ayes recorded from multiple members.

The board next approved committee assignments for the year. The chair and vice chair will sit on the budget committee along with the county administrator, and other members were assigned to economic development, facilities, local emergency planning, parks and recreation, planning commission, public service authority, school board liaison, social services/CPMT, tourism advisory council, town‑county liaison, and West Piedmont regional planning boards. The motion to approve the appointments carried by voice vote.

The appointments and schedule were approved as part of routine organizational business; the board then proceeded to training on FOIA and conflict‑of‑interest obligations.
