The St. Louis Park Economic Development Authority (EDA) conducted officer elections at its meeting immediately following the City Council session. Karen Barton, community development director and EDA executive director, reviewed the bylaws that require election of a president, vice president and treasurer and noted the city manager or designee serves as executive director and the city clerk serves as secretary.
The body nominated and voted to elect Commissioner Yolanda Farris as EDA president for 2026, Paul Baldwin as vice president and Daniel Bayshore as treasurer. The EDA also confirmed the longstanding administrative practice of designating Karen Barton (or the city manager’s designee) as executive director and appointing Melissa Kennedy as EDA secretary for the 2026 term.
The motion passed by voice vote; the EDA president then adjourned the meeting and noted treats would be available in the lobby.
