St. Louis Park swears in four newly elected council members

Daniel Bayshore (Ward 1), James Engelking (Ward 2), Sue Budd (Ward 3) and Tim Brausen (Ward 4) each repeated the oath to support the constitutions of the United States and the state of Minnesota and pledged to “faithfully discharge the duties of the office of council member” for the City of St. Louis Park in Hennepin County. The oaths were administered by city staff in a public ceremony.
The mayor and councilmembers offered congratulatory remarks and thanked city staff for what new members described as extensive onboarding work. Council members also recognized outgoing officials and former Mayor Jake Spano for their service.
No policy decisions were taken as part of the oath ceremony; the swearing-in was a ceremonial action that completes the transition of newly elected members and allows them to participate in future council business.
