The Martinsville Board of Works and Safety on Jan. 12 approved routine contract and financial items, including a janitorial contract renewal, a batch of sewer adjustments and the claims presented prior to the meeting.
Mister Coffey presented a one‑year renewal for janitorial services at City Hall covering Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2026; the board approved the renewal with no discussion.
The board reviewed and accepted a list of sewer adjustments and associated amounts for individual service addresses: 820 South Marion Street ($192.55), 260 North Mulberry Street ($37.16), 399 East Green Street ($15.76), 389 North Park Avenue ($957.10), 509 State Road 39 Bypass ($172.28), 50 Dalton Lane ($104.72), 1619 James Way ($189.18) and 159 Tulip Street ($144.88). A motion to accept all adjustments was made, seconded and carried.
The board then considered claims that had been handed out prior to the meeting; a motion was made and carried to accept the claims as written.
All three items were approved at the Jan. 12 meeting; the transcript records the motions and that each "motion carries." No amendments or roll‑call vote details beyond recorded ayes were entered in the meeting record.
