Brandy told the board the handbook was intended to go into effect in January 2026 but staff identified formatting issues, a table of contents mismatch, and a need to clarify the conversion of vacation, sick and personal time to a single paid time off (PTO) policy for civilian non‑union employees. She also said the fire and police supplemental policy referenced in the handbook has now been completed and included.
A board member said they had reviewed the revisions and had no objections. The board moved, seconded and approved the corrected handbook as presented.
The handbook will be the operative personnel policy document for 2026; the transcript does not record an implementation timetable beyond the statement that the document was intended to take effect in January 2026.
