The commission also moved to adopt a resolution authorizing participation in the ACCA workers' compensation self-insurance fund through Sept. 30, 2029. Speaker 4, identified in the meeting as the chief administrative officer, described that as the annual routine action required to document participation and to secure any entitled refunds or credits.
On Item 5, the commission approved placing on the agenda a budget amendment in the amount of $159,349.78 to record anticipated 911 salary reimbursement from the Dothan–Houston County Communications District/911 board. Speaker 4 said the county does not budget the money until it is confirmed and that this is the second year receiving a similar payment.
Speaker 4 also described Item 6, an allocation/adjustment of American Rescue Plan Act funds for highway and road system improvements. The November 2024 budget initially listed $340,730 for certain projects but the final moved amount totaled $426,000; this agenda item brings reporting into alignment with federal requirements.
Other administrative items placed on the agenda included the appointment of Jackie Turner to the Dothan–Houston County Library Board, approval of the FY2025 Rebuild Alabama annual report (to be presented Monday), a combined presentation of FY2025 paving and special projects, and several surplus equipment sales including a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado and a list of heavy equipment and trucks proposed for auction or intergovernmental sale.
