Lee County Commission approves appointments, licenses, contracts and employee recognition program

The commission voted to send a letter of support for Preferred Home Health after a motion by Commissioner Doug Cannon, citing county growth and the need for additional in-home services for patients leaving hospitals.
Sheriff Jay Jones presented two one-day special-events license requests. The commission approved a Nov. 22 event called "Holland Toasts" at a commercial event venue on Lee Road 383 in District 4 and approved a Nov. 21 wedding reception with Premium Pours bartending service in District 5 after confirming alcohol-monitoring requirements.
The Highway Department recommended awarding bid number 2020-515 to local contractor East Alabama Paving Company after receiving a single bid; the commission approved the award.
