Flat Rock council affirms department heads, approves board calendar and makes DDA appointment

At its January meeting, the Flat Rock City Council voted to retain the current city department heads and to approve the city's board calendar after a date correction for the Downtown Development Authority (DDA).
Mayor Beller named the department leadership slate and the council moved to concur: Brian Marciniak as city administrator; Rebecca as city clerk; Eric Holtz as DPW and water director; Steve McKinchick as police chief; James Hubbard as interim fire chief; David Popp as building and zoning director; and Rodney Wade as parks and recreation director. A council member moved to concur with the mayor's recommendations and the motion passed by voice vote.
The council corrected the DDA meeting date to Jan. 8 and approved the calendar for multiple boards. Mayor Beller then nominated former councilman Larry Deshaw for a DDA appointment; a motion in support was approved by voice vote.
The council approved a request from the clerk, Rebecca, to carry over unused vacation time and approved a fuel‑management agreement for $2,148 covering support, service, repair and compliance for the city's computer system. All items were adopted by voice vote.
