Public Works presented two routine but locally impactful items and council approved both on consent. First, Comcast requested a variance from the underground-utility ordinance on Adair Drive to install roughly 50 feet of fiber-optic cable by overlash between existing utility poles at 298 and 368 Adair Drive; Public Works recommended approval and the council approved the variance on consent.
Second, Public Works proposed a speed study for a residential portion of Delk Street (from East Dixie Avenue to Hawkins Street) to determine whether traffic calming devices are warranted; the ward representative supported the study and council approved the motion to proceed.
Both items were approved with no recorded objections on the consent calendar; staff said they will follow up with implementation steps as needed.
