The Marietta City Council approved a rezoning application for a 0.702‑acre lot at 615 Cobb Parkway (case Z2025‑24) on Dec. 10, by a 6–1 vote. The owner asked to reestablish an existing nonconforming outdoor storage use and requested variances related to the lot’s limited frontage.
Parks Huff (identifying himself in the record) told the council the proposal would improve the site’s appearance with an opaque fence, landscaping between the fence and right‑of‑way, and replacement of gravel at the entrance with concrete. "It would be a much more attractive condition than it is now," Huff said, outlining conditions included in a letter dated Dec. 10.
The planning commission had unanimously recommended allowing the reestablished nonconforming use subject to conditions. Councilmember Cheryl Richardson (moved by an attending councilmember) offered a motion to approve the application with the stipulated fencing and landscaping; the motion carried 6–1.
The approval includes conditions documented in the applicant’s stipulation letter; staff retains enforcement authority via existing code definitions for opaque fencing and required landscaping. No additional public testimony spoke in opposition at the hearing.
Next steps: Staff will record the conditions as part of the approval and monitor compliance under existing code enforcement procedures.
