Commissioners used the Jan. 12 work session to preview noncontroversial items to be handled at the regular meeting, including a proclamation recognizing Human Trafficking Prevention Month and a centennial proclamation for Bell Missionary Baptist Church, scheduled for presentation in March.

Staff also described the Rebuild Alabama Act annual report, explaining statutory transparency requirements for expenditures of Rebuild Alabama funds and noting that the report is informational; Mr. Harvill was identified as the staffer who helps assemble and will present the report at the regular meeting.

The consent agenda was reviewed with no substantive questions raised in the work session. Several commissioners encouraged public outreach on items that later drew broader attention (see aerial-photography discussion).
