Summary
Superintendent presented board-appreciation activities and a December enrollment snapshot — 11,159 students and 95.24% attendance — and announced district community events and recognition night on Feb. 2.
The Waxahachie ISD superintendent opened the board’s report section with a short board-appreciation presentation and a student-produced video, thanking trustees for their volunteer service and listing district opportunities in arts, athletics and career programs.
The superintendent reported district enrollment as of Dec. 19 at 11,159 students, with average daily attendance (ADA) of 10,416, an attendance rate of 95.24%. She also announced the next districtwide recognitions night will be Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. at the Fine Arts Center and said the district will resume its “First Friday Focus” community events (next scheduled for Feb. 6 at 8 a.m.).
Board members asked clarifying questions about classroom storage changes at three elementary campuses and about the logistics for distributing the appreciation gifts. The superintendent said the Crayola-branded USB given to trustees contains a video from students and that the district will continue public outreach through monthly First Friday events.
The report was informational; no board action was required.
