Vigo County commissioners approved a slate of routine administrative items, including a large claim docket, multiple appointments, credit cards and contracts.
The county auditor presented a claim docket dated Dec. 26, 2025, through Jan. 9, 2026, totaling $1,024,617.89; commissioners voted to approve the docket. The board also appointed David Templeton to the Terre Haute International Airport board of directors, effective in January, and approved appointments to the New Goshen Fire Protection District for Gary Garzolini, Daryl Dean, Joe Watts and Sam Lane for four‑year terms beginning January 2026.
Administratively, commissioners authorized a separate county credit card for Family Recovery Court coordinator Leanne Reisenbeck to keep program invoices separate and easier for auditors to review. The board also approved a separate credit card for the auditor's new chief deputy, Morgan Van Sant, while staff noted a countywide review of credit‑card rules and deletions of cards for departed employees.
On procurement and infrastructure, the board approved a guaranteed roofing contract for the new 9‑1‑1 emergency dispatch center and agreed to roll over highway department bids from the only bidders last year (Milestone and Asphalt Materials) into 2026. Commissioners also approved an on‑call engineering contract with Versus Engineering to provide bridge consulting and inspection services and established rates for on‑call work.
All approvals were taken by motion, second and voice vote; no roll‑call tallies with individual commissioner names were recorded in the transcript.
