Summary
Weston Elementary principal Scott Miller introduced related arts teachers and fourth-grade students and guided board members and parents through brief, station-based demonstrations in STEM, art, music and PE to illustrate kinesthetic learning strategies.
Scott Miller, principal at Weston Elementary, opened the meeting’s spotlight segment by introducing the school’s related arts teachers and eight fourth‑grade students and inviting board members and parents to observe two short station rotations showcasing STEM, art, music and physical education.
“I am Scott Miller, the principal at Weston Elementary,” Miller said as he introduced teachers and students, and explained the station rotations the visitors would experience. During a music/PE demonstration, a teacher led students through kinesthetic exercises to illustrate meter and rhythm and explained the approach helps “people who are struggling to learn about the oral side of music by putting it in your body.”
The demonstration ran in timed rotations so board members could visit two stations and observe classroom strategies. After the rotations, Miller thanked attendees and answered brief questions before the board suspended the regular meeting for organizational business.
The spotlight segment was presented as an informational demonstration; no board action was taken as part of the classroom visits. The event was positioned to show instructional practice and engage board members with classroom-level programming.
